All ACOFEL instructors in Tasmania are authorised by Department of State Growth (Roads and Infrastructure). Here's what it takes to become a licensed instructor in TAS.

Become an instructor

    Hold an Australian driver licence (non-learner/provisional) for at least 3 years, including the year immediately prior to applying

    Complete a TLI41225 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training

  • 3

    Submit an application for the Ancillary Certificate in Driving Instruction

  • 4

    Have no criminal, traffic, drug, alcohol-related or theft convictions within the last 5 years

  • 5

    Drive an approved dual-control training vehicle
